The ability for workers to speak their minds without fear—also known as psychological safety—is a powerful tool against burnout and contributes to higher employee retention.
Michael Blanding talked to researchers Amy C. Edmondson and Hassina Bahadurzada about psychological safety in the workplace and their paper, written alongside Michaela Kerrissey, Psychological Safety as an Enduring Resource Amid Constraints, in an article for the Harvard Business School.

It found a strong correlation between psychological safety and protection against stress and emphasizes that when faced with resource constraint, fostering psychological safety is an investment in a resilient workforce.
