When disaster strikes, people with disabilities face additional risks and barriers that need to be taken into consideration in every emergency response strategy.
Sara Mosqueda, in an article for Security Management, outlines five ways to deliberately build inclusivity into emergency response planning. Mosqueda also draws from the WHO’s Guidance note on disability and emergency risk management for health, which can be accessed here.
