The University of Nevada is organizing Interprofessional Care 2026, “a coordinated exercise simulating a 6.9-magnitude earthquake and the mass-casualty situation that follows,” write 2 News Nevada.
Over 180 students across programs, including public health, nursing, paramedics, and more, will be participating.
The exercise is aimed not only at giving practical career-relevant experience, but also at establishing strong communication and teamwork skills across healthcare areas, an invaluable part of disaster response and preparedness beyond the classroom.
