The Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) gears up for its next biennial survey to “identify and address the Earth observation needs of civilian federal agencies.”
Examples of past resources to come out of this survey include the 10-meter Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) Product, an improvement on the original that better assess wildfire damage, coastal erosion, disaster losses and more, as well as the Second Generation of the Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS-2G).
The next survey opens May 18, 2026. SNWG encourages civilian federal agencies to participate.
