In the face of cyberattacks against infrastructure systems like the recent Iran-linked hack of US water utilities, there is a rising call for industries at all levels to address known vulnerabilities before jumping ahead to plan against complex AI cyber-attacks.
Resources cannot be spent on risk reduction alone, there also needs to be continued investment in harm reduction. Sometimes prioritizing continuity of service needs to come above a prevention-focused mindset.
