Etay Maor, in an article for Security Week, talks agentic AI, or autonomous AI agents. These are no longer regular chatbots and are now comprised of an automation executional layer, allowing them to access tools and systems, as well as act on the user’s behalf.
Looking at OpenClaw specifically, Maor explores how this new form of AI agent opens the doors for new forms of risk and the importance of ensuring security and governance are keeping up to date.
Maor identifies three high-risk areas showing governance gaps: prompt injection, supply chain drift, and malware delivery. He stresses that if organizations are going to use agentic AI, they need to ensure they have deep visibility and thorough understanding of how the AI operates, what it is granted access to, and what new risks may arise in its wake.
