The Canadian Climate Institute has released a new report, Prepare of Repair: How climate-proofing public infrastructure pays off, highlighting the importance of proactively investing in resilience today to reduce future damages and repair costs.
The report, split into seven parts, delves into intensifying infrastructure problems due to climate change, suggested methodologies, expected results, implications for the country at municipal, federal, provincial, economic, and individual levels, policy pathways, and more.
With an already ageing infrastructure under strain, taking proactive actions could not only save taxpayers billions annually, but also set the foundation for a more resilient infrastructure for generations.
